This is the modelling blog of Payce, a thirty-something miniatures wargamer living far north of anywhere sensible. With a small child, a master’s degree in literature analysis, and work as an operations manager in the fishery exports business, the hobby is the eye of the everyday storm.

I’ve been involved with Games Workshop and Citadel games since late 2. edition Warhammer 40,000, and have collected and painted miniatures for table-top role-playing games even longer. I’ve begun (and abandoned) more army projects that can be counted on the average number of human fingers and toes, for all three game systems. I’ve played competitive Warhammer 40,000 with Tyranids and Iron Warriors back in 4th and 5th edition, before taking a step back to focus more on family, work and casual gaming the past few years.

Currently, I am working on an elven army for Warhammer Fantasy/Age of Sigmar, and a Slaaneshi Daemon-army for Warhammer 40,000 as my primary armies. I also have an all-female Dark Eldar Wych Cult that I sometimes bring out when I forget how utterly crap they are (and then stow away again when I remember), and an old Tyranid army that surprisingly still win games, even without formations and dataslates. In addition, I occasionally just paint stuff because I feel like it, or because something really awesome finds its way into my stash.
